Ride Planning Meeting at Tom & Merrilee's Place

Chili will be served and we will have a few dessert items. We might even be able to play a few card games after we accomplish all that we set out to do, might get a chance to practice up on your Corn Hole game, Everyone is welcome.  We will welcome you starting at 11 am and we will snack around we will provide a Chili and will have tea and coffee, please bring your favorite dessert or snacks or soda of your choice.  By the time we dump all the chili together and warm things up we will sit down and eat. After we eat we will gather our ideas for the upcoming 2024 riding season. Jot down your suggestions, timing and your availability to lead or plan the ride. Cell phone reception is much better now that they have put up more towers after you leave town, and make sure you have plenty of gas, caution we have our own Deals Gap, approx 12 miles from traffic light #10, there are plenty of curvy roads, be careful. Plenty of parking in the driveway or at the top of our hillside along the road, approx 12 miles from Traffic light #10 when you turn right onto Cumberland Ave off 63 East, no gas after you leave town but cell service has improved in 2023

 I-75 North to Exit 134 Caryville, Jacksboro, La Follette

 At bottom of ramp follow TN-63/US-25W along Cove Lake State Park and on into Jacksboro and eventually into Lafollette for approximately 8 miles you will come to Traffic Light #10, Cumberland Avenue, turn right onto Cumberland Ave.  Follow signs to Deerfield Resort – every mile or so) you will see a small 1 foot square blue sign on a pole or on a tree. Road name changes to Old Long Hollow Road, you will see these small Deerfield Resort signs every mile along the way.   stay left onto Cedar Creek Rd as you dip down over the hill past the Church marqué that will be on your right, road makes a hard left, do not go straight.   In about 3.8 miles turn right at next intersection onto Alder Springs Road, You will see Dash & Go on the right as you make the turn up the hill, follow the signs to Deerfield Resort. Turn right in about 1 mile, road will bear to the left, make sure to stay to the right as you go right up the hill onto Chapman Rd (you’ll see signs to Deerfield Resort.) You’ll come to the guard shack in about a mile – let them know that you’re visiting us, address is 153 Deerwood Lane if they ask, Note: the road name changes to Deerfield Way at the guard shack. Follow Deerfield Way as it winds along the golf course and eventually the road will split, just after the road comes back together you will come to a intersection there will be the real estate office on left and a Tennis court on the right. Turn right continuing on Deerfield Way at office and tennis court (you’ll still be on Deerfield Way after turning right just past the Tennis court).  Go straight then down the hill as the road curves to the left there will be 2 houses on your left and a small green pump house on the right, turn right at the first street, onto Deerwood Lane as it makes a hard right.  Our house is the second driveway on the left – you’ll see the street sign that says TomKats Place at our driveway, turn left between the 2 stone light posts and into the driveway, large driveway plenty of room to park or you can also park along the street in front of our house.

      Note: Your GPS may take you a different way,  that’s OK, a bit out of the way though.  We prefer this route.  See you soon! It will show the roads but may not navigate to our address.
